Today Gary Bettman made some important announcements at the NHL Board of Governors meeting. One of the most notable announcements was the NHL expects the players to have their portion of hockey related revenues paid back by 2024/25.
The NHL was also expecting revenues this season to top $5,000,000,000 and at this rate would allow for a "significant" cap increase for the 2024/25 season.
With the current $1,000,000 yearly planned increase the cap would be $84,500,000 at that time.
