REPORT: A comment by Auston Matthews has Maple Leafs fans FREAKING OUT
Last season Auston Matthews absolutely dominated the league, scoring 60 goals in 63 games, including a 50 in 50 stretch. He finished the season with 106 points and took home the Rocket Richard, Hart Memorial and Ted Lindsay award.
We all know about Matthews' contract, and that at the end of next season he is a Unrestricted Free Agent and can sign wherever he wants. This had led to many speculations that he would return to Arizona and play for the Coyotes.
Today during a 'Leaf to Leaf' video shared on social media, Auston Matthews makes a comment that has really upset Maple Leafs fans.
When Michael Bunting who is conducting the interview, asks Matthews where is his favourite place to play, his answer was NOT Toronto.

Many players want to play in big markets, and the New York Rangers are one of the biggest in hockey, and Mathews wants to play there for ''lots of reasons''. He also mentioned LA and Florida, most likely due to the weather.
