The second best goaltender available in free agency was Jack Campbell and they were quick to offer him a 5 year deal after the Maple Leafs chose to let him walk in free agency.
So far to start this season, it had not been an ideal situation for Campbell. Through 4 periods of hockey so far, he has let in 7 goals and found himself pulled in his last game. Saturday night against the Calgary Flames, he let in 4 goals on 10 shots, in just 11 minutes.
Stuart Skinner, the young backup came into that game and did not let a goal in, but unfortuantely the Oilers were unable to make a comeback. But it looks like it was enough to get him a start tomorrow as head coach Jay Woodcroft is electing to go with Skinner instead of Campbell for their battle with the Sabres, even though Campbell will be fully rested.

While many will say that due to the Sabres being an easier team, it's a good time to play your backup, the fact is this would be an even better opportunity to play Campbell and give him a chance to gain some confidence with his new team.
