For many years, Brad Marchand was one of the biggest pests in the NHL, he has been suspended and fined so many times that he has forfeited over $1,000,000 in salary. On countless occasions Brad Marchand crossed the line, to the point where he was the most hated player in the league.
But over the past few seasons, Marchand has matured and has really cleaned up his act. Sure he may throw the occasional cheap-shot, but he has cleaned up his game quite a bit and has become one of the best two-way players in the league.
Last night though, Devils forward Michael McLeod attempted to clear the puck out of the zone and Brad Marchand caught him square in the head with his shoulder.

There was no penalty given on the hit, but after watching the replay, whether Marchand meant to do it or not, it was a clear head shot.
With Marchand's history, fans for sure thought a suspension was coming, but according to Insider Emily Kaplan, that is not the case:
