The Vancouver Canucks have rebounded from that awful start to the season they had, they are now 7-3-0 in their last 10 and have found themselves now only 2 points out of a playoff spot.

While their season and play has been inconsistent, the only thing that has been consistent is the play of captain Bo Horvat who is having a career year in almost every category.

The 27 year old captain is currently leading the team in goals with 20, and second in points with 29 in 27 games. He is a Unrestricted free agent at the end of this season and has picked the right time to have a career year.

It was reported earlier today that the Canucks gave him an embarrassingly low offer that is actually less than he currently makes(currently making $5,500,000, contract offer was for $5,125,000.)

While some insiders have reported that Horvat could land upwards of $9,000,000 in free agency.

Elliotte Friedman reported that contract talks have not been going well. He did say that things do change quickly, but they do not seem to be trending in the right direction:

Obviously, the Canucks are a team to watch. I despise dealing in absolutes, because I've learned negotiations can change out of nowhere (see JT Miller), but it's not trending well for a Bo Horvat extension.

With this rebound they've had currently, they are showing teams that the Canucks can win, but with Brock Boeser requesting a trade, and Bo Horvat possibly walking in free agency, should the Canucks just consider a rebuild?
