The Buffalo Sabres are looking to finally compete for the playoffs and with a young core, they are looking to move out some of the older talent.
Sabres Looking To Move On From Goalscoring Forward
In a recent report from NHL Trade Rumors, James Wilson revealed the Sabres are still looking to move on from Victor Olofsson.
Speculation abounds regarding potential strategies to facilitate the trade, with one prominent idea being the Sabres retaining up to half of Olofsson's $4.75 million salary cap hit to make the deal more attractive to other teams, according to NHL Trade Rumor.com... As the Sabres continue their efforts to find a trade partner for Olofsson, the outcome of this ongoing saga remains a focal point of interest for fans and the hockey community alike.
Olofsson is pretty expensive as is but he could provide an excellent level of secondary scoring to any NHL team.
What Olofsson Brings
Victor Olofsson brings one thing mainly and that is goalscoring. Last season he scored 28 goals and 40 total points meaning 70% of his points were goals.
Olofsson is known for his one-timer which is among the best in the league despite getting little recognition. He can line up at the circles similar to Ovechkin or Stamkos and score quite efficiently from there.

If a team is looking for powerplay help, Olofsson could certainly be a top option.
