Rumors around Hanafin and Backlund have gone quiet for now but Calgary's big fish has drawn interest from two Eastern conference teams.
One of the teams that has shown interest all off-season long was the Boston Bruins and with their captain Patrice Bergeron retiring it has the Bruins without a top center for the first time in years.
According to multiple sources the Bruins are looking to find a suitable replacement for Bergeron and they feel that Lindholms two-way game and age would be a perfect fit for their squad.
The Bruins right now are left with Pavel Zacha and Charlie Coyle as their one-two punch down the middle. Far fall down to Earth from Bergeron and David Krejci.
The other team interested in the superstar center is the Washington Capitals.
Their situation a little bit different than the Bruins as their top center Evgeny Kuznetsov has requested a trade out of Washington. With their core of Backstrom Oshie Carlson and Ovechkin getting older their need to be in win now mode has grown.
The addition of Lindholm to this roster would help get the Capitals back in winning ways, once again Lindholm's combination of age and skill set would be a good addition to the club according to some.
Lindholm is currently asking for almost $9 million dollars to stay a member of the Calgary Flames, it is unsure what the Flames will do with their star forward.
