Connor Bedard gets punished by Canada for poor play
Today team Canada is playing Slovakia in the Quarterfinal of the IIHF World Championships and they have decided to demote Connor Bedard to the 13th forward.
This morning it was announced by several sources that Team Canada would be heading into the knockout round with Connor Bedard as their 13th forward. This decision comes after he played just 8 minutes in the previous game against Czechia.
Connor Bedard is listed as Canada's 13th forward for today's QF vs Slovakia. He played 8:08 in Canada's last Preliminary Round game vs Czechia.
This move comes as a surprise to many because Connor Bedard is by far one of the most talented players on Team Canada. However, in this tournament, he has struggled to produce to this point. In today's game though despite being demoted Connor Bedard was able to pick up an assist.

Hopefully, this can be a catalyst for Connor Bedard to turn around his tournament and get back on track for the medal rounds. If Connor Bedard returns to form Team Canada could be truly dangerous.
