Filip Zadina officially signs a new contract
The 24-year-old forward Filip Zadina officially signed a new contract in pro hockey.
Following a one-year stint with the San Jose Sharks, the 6th overall pick in the 2018 NHL draft is leaving North America.
In breaking news, we learned that Zadina signed a two-year contract with HC Davos, in the Swiss National League.
The general manager of the organization, Jan Alston, commented on Zadina's acquisition:
"Despite his young age, Filip brings a lot of experience and offensive qualities. He is still very young and has not yet reached his full potential. Filip will be one of seven foreign players in the squad. This will give the coaching staff more options to put the best team on the ice in every game."
Zadina took part in 262 NHL games with the Detroit Red Wings and the San Jose Sharks between 2018 and 2024. In that time, he scored 91 points, including 41 goals.
After many rumors suggesting he would sign a professional tryout contract in the NHL, with renowned insider Kevin Weekes name-dropping a few interested teams, such as the Montreal Canadiens and the Buffalo Sabres.
