Prince Edward Island was the scene of a tragic cottage fire that sadly took the life of one junior hockey player, and injured three of his teammates.

Four hockey teammates were out having a weekend of fun at a cottage in Prince Edward Island, when sadly, things took a turn for the worse. A fire broke out, tragically ending the life of Cole Harbour Colts player Noah Latimer, while severely injuring his three teammates.

"Three people who escaped the fire were injured, one with serious injuries. Once the fire was extinguished by the fire departments, human remains of one person were discovered inside.

The scene was held by the RCMP and the investigation is ongoing."

Latimer also played for the Truro Bearcats, and they confirmed on social media that all four people involved in the fire were members of their organization a couple of years ago.

We are absolutely heartbroken to hear about the tragic accident involving 4 of our alumni this past weekend resulting in the loss of one of our own.

Noah Latimer played parts of 2 seasons with the Bearcats in 2021/22 and 2022/23.

Rest easy 22, forever in our hearts. ❤️🖤

Noah was a young Canadian prospect born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he played the majority of his games, while engaging in a few over in New Brunswick as well. Here's hoping his family and friends get the support they need during this tough time, and we offer them our deepest condolences.
