Since the Toronto Maple Leafs lost the first round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Boston Bruins, both Linus Ullmark and Ilya Samsonov inked contracts with new teams.
After a tough two-year stint with the Maple Leafs, Samsonov signed a one-year contract at $1.8M with the Vegas Golden Knights, whereas Ullmark left Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins to join the Ottawa Senators, under a brand new four-year, $20M deal.
Both teams are set to face each other on November 21st, and it seems as though Samsonov hasn't gone over the loss against the Bruins just yet.
Even if Ullmark played in only one game in the whole round, Samsonov seems to see a rival in Ullmark.
After a post on Instagram placed Ullmark at the 10th rank among NHL goalies, Samsonov left a comment, warning him about their next matchup.
Watch the post here:
If both goalies can remain healthy until then, fans of the Maple Leafs, Bruins, Senators and Golden Knights could get a goalie rematch between Ullmark and Samsonov in what could turn out to be an intense matchup.
