After another disappointing playoff performance a year ago, the Toronto Maple Leafs needed big changes this summer, and along with the departure of Sheldon Keefe and the arrival of Craig Berube, they added some big names to their blue line. However, they've still got some holes on this roster, and with weeks left until training camp, speculation continues to run rampant over a potential trade to improve their forward group.
The latest of which comes from Heavy.com and sees Toronto land their 3C of the present and the future from Philadelphia in exchange for a disgruntled forward and a veteran depth piece.
While he's yet to establish himself as a star in the NHL, Morgan Frost has continued to improve in recent years, and with a combined 87 points over his last two campaigns, he certainly has the potential to thrive in a lineup with talent around him.
In Robertson, the Flyers would get a very talented winger who is expected to star in the NHL if he can stay healthy, along with a veteran depth piece that John Tortorella would adore in Calle Jarnkrok, making this a very intriguing deal. Overall, the Maple Leafs may be the team winning this trade, so a few adjustments may need to be made if the teams were to begin talking terms, but if Toronto could find a way to land Frost, they'd be looking at an incredible lineup down the middle for years to come.
