Shaq Comments on Bobby Ryan's Recent Remarks About Women's Sports

Bobby Ryan has recently gotten into trouble about his statements regarding women's basketball, Shaq has commented on the situation, supporting women's basketball.

Shaquille O'Neal, the retired NBA star, is regarded by many as the greatest of all time, and has even been honoured by one of his former teams, the Los Angeles Lakers, who retired his number, 34, back in 2013. He has achieved many accomplishments throughout his career and is considered by many to be a good authority on the topic of professional basketball.

Shaq has been quite busy since his retirement from the NBA in 2011. He famously appears in many commercials and is not shy to appear on broadcast television. He also hosts a podcast, called The Big Podcast with Shaq. On a recent episode of The Big Podcast, the topic of this year's NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament was brought up.

Shaq was not shy to openly support the tournament, and women's basketball, unlike Bobby Ryan, who recently made and defended several rude comments regarding the tournament, and women's sports in general.

Shaq praised the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, saying:

"The boys suck, but I'm definitely following the girls

I don't think I even know any men's (players)"

This statement almost directly addresses Bobby Ryan's comment, where he challenged Twitter users to

"Name 7 players. Not 1. Not 2...5-7. First and last names go for it."

The clip shows Shaq naming several players and complimenting them. He goes on to explain that before last week, he had never watched an all-girls game. Perhaps Bobby Ryan can learn a lesson from Shaq, instead of wasting his time trashing the sport, he can actually watch and see why Shaq is praising women's basketball.
