Today the Vancouver Canucks bad luck this season has continued as it seems the team has lost star players Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes to injury.

This season has been disastrous for the Vancouver Canucks especially in recent weeks after the drama between star forward Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller.

Just before the holiday break, things went from bad to even worse as Pettersson and Canucks captain Quinn Hughes both were limited in the Canucks game against the San Jose Sharks due to injury.

Since this frustrating moment against the Sharks both Pettersson and Hughes missed the Canucks next game against the Seattle Kraken.

Now a new update has been provided as the Canucks returned to practice this afternoon with many hoping to see both Hughes and Pettersson on the ice.

Reports confirm Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson to remain out due to injury

Today the Canucks conducted a practice ahead of their upcoming game on Tuesday but did so without Pettersson and Hughes.

Reports from those in attendance confirmed neither player was seen on the ice or at the facility during the Canucks practice today.

With the Canucks being off until Tuesday this could be just another rest day for the Canucks stars before they have to return to action.

Pettersson and Hughes will have their first opportunity to return to action against the Calgary Flames when the Canucks take the ice on Tuesday.

In the coming days, Rick Tocchet and the Canucks front office will have to provide an update on their franchise cornerstones and if one of them is severely injured that would be terrible news for the Canucks continued playoff push.
