The Anaheim Ducks are a team that is a few years away from competing, and with a young, hungry roster, it appears they're ready to move on from Cam Fowler

Last season, Cam Fowler served as one of the three players wearing an 'A' in Anaheim alongside Mason MacTavish and Troy Terry, but now it appears his future may lay elsewhere. According to top insider Elliotte Friedman, the Ducks front office has begun the process of talking to Fowler about a potential trade, and while he currently has four teams on his trade list, that could be expanding as the team looks to continue getting younger for the future.

"I don't think anybody will be surprised if sometime this season Cam Fowler is elsewhere and from what I've been told it is a positive working environment with him and the Ducks about getting this done and finding him a new place to play."

Fowler has two years remaining on his current contract, and while the $6.5 million cap hit isn't an easy one to stomach for potential trade partners, the Ducks' flexibility could allow them to retain some money to make a return even better. The 32-year-old Fowler was a first-round pick of the Ducks way back in 2010, and since that point he has played in 974 games with the team, so while it would be amazing to see him pass the 1,000-game mark with the only team he's known in the league, he is likely looking to compete for a Stanley Cup at this stage of his career.

It's unknown who the four potential teams are that he would accept a trade too, right now, but regardless of how this all plays out, he will be remembered forever as one of the greatest to ever represent the Anaheim Ducks.
