The Boston Bruins have lost one of their top young players for the remainder of the season after he underwent season-ending surgery.
Poitras Officially Out For The Rest Of The Season
This past week, the Boston Bruins took to social media to share a grim update on their rookie Matthew Poitras.
Matthew Poitras underwent a successful right shoulder open stabilization (Latarjet) procedure today, February 7. The surgery was performed by Dr. Thomas Holovacs at Massachusetts General Brigham Hospital. The expected recovery time is approximately five months.
Poitras made the Bruins roster as a 19-year-old rookie who was taken in the second round of the 2022 draft.
Through 33 games this season, Poitras scored five goals and 15 points and looks to have years more of development ahead of him.
