Milan Lucic's wife files for divorce after arrest
Former Boston Bruin forward Milan Lucic was infamously arrested earlier this season. Now his wife has officially filed for divorce after their short legal battle.
The Bruins forward has been on a leave of absence with the team since the incident occurred back in November. Technically, he remains on the team roster, although this is likely only a formality as he is still in the NHL Player's assistance program. Today he got more bad news though as his wife has filed for divorce.
The wife of Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic has filed for divorce.
Lucic has been on indefinite leave from the Bruins since facing DV charges that were dropped in February.
Oddly enough, the Bruins fate next season can still be impacted by Lucic, who will likely be retired from the NHL at that point. It seems unlikely that any team would sign him. However, if the Bruins win the Stanley cup this year, they will have a 200K cap hit for a bonus to be paid to Lucic.
Bruins will have $50,000 overage next season on the cap.
If they win the Cup, there will be another $200k added for a Milan Lucic bonus.
Charges against Lucic were dropped in February after a short legal battle. As such, he will not be facing a jail time for his actions, however, he likely will never have a career in hockey again.
