Hurricanes destroy the Islanders on and off the ice
The Carolina Hurricanes destroyed the New York Islanders in game two with a major comeback, and they roasted them on X afterwards.
Rod Brind'Amour's team managed to get back from a three goal deficit to win 5-3, sealing the Isles' fate in an empty net.
The Islanders didn't look very good on the ice, getting only 12 shots on goal during the game.
"The Islanders only had 28 shot attempts and 12 shots on goal in their Game 2 loss to the Hurricanes. 😳"
After the game, the Canes' social media manager completely ripped the Isles appart in a few tweets:
"THEY'RE SO MAD"
"CRY"
"The Isles had more game misconducts than shots on goal in the 3rd 😭"
We don't often see professional teams play that kind of social media game, but nothing's off-limits during the playoffs.
However, the Canes will be to be careful going into games three and four. This will only fuel the already pissed Islanders. At the end of the game, their anger showed. Check out their reactions after Jake Guentzel scored in the empty net:
"Jake Guentzel gets the dagger into the empty net to seal it.
What an incredible ending to that game. Canes take a timeout then score 3 unanswered to go up 5-3. Insanity"
The rest of the series promises to be very interesting to follow. Make sure to stay tuned for stories that'll emerge in the coming games!
