Fraser Minten found his way onto the Maple Leafs roster as an injury replacement, and now he's becoming too valuable for Brad Treliving to make a move.

Early in the 2024/25 NHL season, the Toronto Maple Leafs have dealt with immense injury issues, and while they're slowly getting healthy, it's no secret that Brad Treliving has been eyeing a huge trade.

It has been confirmed that the GM was looking to land a 3C with defensive chops that could provide a scoring punch to the bottom six, but now, one player, in particular, may have changed those plans entirely.

After being called up as an injury replacement, Fraser Minten has quickly gone to work establishing himself at the NHL level, posting 2 goals and 4 points in just five NHL games played, with the 20-year-old showing why the team drafted him in the first round back in 2022.

Given the stability and the scoring that he's brought already, questions are now being raised about the team's need for a 3C, with several Sportsnet analysts now looking at Minten as the true answer at the position.

It's unclear whether or not this pace can be sustained, but given that Minten has produced at every level he has played thus far, it makes sense to have some confidence in the young standout.

With veteran Steven Lorentz and the talented Bobby McMann alongside him, Minten has quickly found his footing in the NHL, and with the team likely to bring back Max Domi or Max Pacioretty to play on his wing, things could only get better.

At this point in time, Minten has shown he has all the makings of an everyday player at the NHL level, and with injury returns expected soon, the lineup could see a little shakeup, but for now, it's safe to say that Brad Treliving can hold off on making a trade.
