It is not clear exactly what Bertuzzi did to get on Keefe's wrong side. After all, why would he put him in the lineup if he didn't plan on playing him? That being said, Sheldon Keefe has had a complicated relationship with Bertuzzi this season.

Tyler Bertuzzi has yet to take a shift in this game. He is on the bench, though.

Eventually, the coach did play Bertuzzi, He is currently up to just under 7:30 of ice time through two periods against the Capitals. Bertuzzi has averaged nearly 16 minutes of ice time per game this season.

Bertuzzi now taking first shift midway through the first period.

be sure to stay tuned for more updates as we learn more about why Bertuzzi was seemingly demoted tonight.
