The Bruins captain has always been known as a player who is not afraid to take certain liberties when he's on the ice. Furthermore, he is particularly creative and effective when coming up with unique chirps. However, sometime a simple curse or two gets the point across. That's the route he took last time the Bruins played the Toronto Maple Leafs, handily defeating them 4-1.
Marchand was wearing a mic for the game so we got to hear all of his chirps, or at least the ones that they released online. Even then, much of what the Bruins captain said had to be bleeped out.
During the 4-1 loss to the Bruins, Leafs rookie Matthew Knies left the game early after he collided with Brad Marchand. Shockingly, Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe defended Marchand on the play. After the game, Keefe noted that there was no malicious intent on the play and that Marchand simply noticed the collision coming quicker, so he was able to better protect himself.
The Leafs and Bruins are done facing each other for the year, at least in the regular season. There is a good chance these two teams could meet again in the playoffs though. That series will be highly anticipated by fans of both teams but Leafs fans will be especially eager to see their team finally go on a deep playoff run.
