Suspension Incoming For Tom Wilson After Vicious High-Stick Vs The Toronto Maple Leafs
A potential suspension could be coming for Tom Wilson after his high stick on Noah Gregor of the Toronto Maple Leafs last night.
The Toronto Maple Leafs were on fire last night against the Washington Capitals, highlighted by Auston Matthews and Max Domi putting up 5 and 4-point nights, respectively.
While the game was relatively clean of any dirty plays, one play with Tom Wilson is raising eyebrows today. During the game, he had a high stick on Toronto's Noah Gregor that earned him a major penalty. After looking at the replay, some are saying that he should face additional punishment.
Tom Wilson was assessed a double-minor for this high-stick on Noah Gregor.
Do you think he deserves additional punishment?
Wilson's high stick was more than likely an accident, especially given his reaction to the play immediately after. However, it is hard to predict what the NHL might hand out, especially given the inconsistencies.
The play didn't stop the Leafs from performing, as they needed the win, especially after making some significant lineup changes on defence, and sitting their top forward at the start of the game.
As seen on Maple Leafs Daily - "Tom Wilson swings his stick at Leafs winger's face and immediately regrets his decision"
