The 2024 NHL Draft is just days away, and with the Utah Hockey Club looking to make a splash early in their lifespan, they may be open to moving their top pick.

After years of financial issues, the Arizona Coyotes have finally been relocated, with the Utah Hockey Club (name not yet confirmed) to make their NHL debut in the 2024-25 season. With a talented young core, the future is bright for the NHL's newest franchise, but according to a recent report, they may be looking to speed up that process;
As we discussed, Utah is willing to trade the 6th overall pick in this month's NHL Draft. ⤵️

David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period has reported that Utah are open for business on the No. 6 overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NHL Draft, as they look to pursue a star player to lead their franchise going forward, with goaltending and a forward their likeliest target. The team is already led by the likes of Clayton Keller, Dylan Guenther and Logan Cooley, and with the addition of a star forward or an elite goaltender, their playoff chances jump drastically, so the expectation is that they will be aggressive on draft night.
The lottery this year is full of players that can impact a rebuild in a positive way, andw with Utah looking to make an impact immediately similar to the Vegas Golden Knights, there's plenty of teams out there that make sense to partner with Utah on a blockbuster trade.
