The Bruins were making transitions out of the defensive zone which directly led Darren Raddysh to come in with a crucial hit, shaking up one of the forwards for the Boston team during their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
After the hit, Cole Koepke found himself on the ground for a brief period and required support while he was heading down the tunnel.
Initially, Raddysh was given a five-minute major penalty for the hit, but after the video call, the major penalty was nullified. The call was rescinded together with the penalty.
At just 26 years of age, Koepke has proved to be one of the spotlights for the current season of the Bruins, as he remains consistent with his performance in the bottom six lineup.
He has a scoring of seven goals and a total of 12 points along with a plus 9 rating after the 43 games played.
This is a huge step up for him as he was only able to garner a meager two assists in the nine matches he partook in last season for Tampa Bay. Moreover, the Bruins had to continue the last part of the game with a reduced bench, with only 10:37 left to go.
They were already short-handed as they did not have Mark Kastelic who suffered a hit in the match against the Lightning last week and Charlie McAvoy who went on injury reserve earlier in the day.
