42-year-old referee arrested after assaulting 10-year-old player during game

A 42-year-old referee from Quebec City had been arrested after allegedly attacking a 10-year-old player during a game. According to TVA Sports the incident happened Sunday morning and has the referee facing serious charges.
TVA Sports released the following information:
A 42-year-old man was arrested in Quebec City for assaulting a child at the Intact Insurance Ice Center on Sunday morning.
The Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) was called to the Sainte-Foy sports complex around 9:25 a.m. for an adult who allegedly physically assaulted a youth.
According to those in attendance, the referee involved, delivered a "deliberate" elbow to the abdomen of the player. This caused a huge reaction from the crowd.
Other witnesses say the blow was delivered "for no reason" and was not done to end a skirmish. The referee has been released on a promise to appear.
