The two time defending Stanley Cup champions were hoping to do what hasn't been done in a salary cup era and that was three-peat as Stanley Cup champions. Unfortunately for them, they failed to achieve that goal Sunday night as the Lightning were knocked off their thrones by the new Kings of hockey the Colorado Avalanche.
Clearly it was a tough loss for the Lightning and they didn't take it very well. In the dying seconds of the game you can see Nikita Kucherov having a temper tantrum on the bench throwing his gloves at the Lightning equipment manager for not getting him a stick when he wanted.
That's not all we would see as Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy who's usually very calm and collected, would be seen uncharacteristically picking up a Lightning helmet and smashing it against the wall in frustration.
Unfortunately the broadcast quickly cut away from Vasilevskiy's explosion so we didn't get to see all of it but clearly this isn't the way you should be acting especially with the younger next generation of hockey fans watching.
