BREAKING: 2023 2nd Overall Pick Leo Carlsson Fined Thousands
Gary Bettman and the NHL will be fining Leo Carlsson for not wearing a helmet during his warm-up lap.
Carlsson To Be Fined Thousands
Tonight, Leo Carlsson is playing in his first NHL game, and with that, he did a warm-up lap but broke an NHL rule by not wearing a helmet.
Take it all in, Leo Carlsson 👏
In doing this, Carlsson will be fined $2,500 because all new players are required to wear a helmet at all times on the ice, even during a rookie lap.
Carlsson is not the only rookie to do this as Connor Bedard and Adam Fantilli also did warm-up laps without a helmet and were subsequently fined.
🚨 ROOKIE LAP FOR FANTILLI 🚨
These rookie's teams are likely paying for their fines as it is tradition to give a nice warm-up lap for the fans and take it all in.
