BREAKING: Blackhawks Give Chris Chelios The Ultimate Award
Defenseman Chris Chelios is receiving one of the highest potential honors possible.
Chelios To Have His Number Retired
It was announced late last night that defenseman Chris Chelios would be having his number seven retired by the Chicago Blackhawks.
Blackhawks will retire Chris Chelios' #7 jersey on Feb. 25 against Detroit, the team has confirmed.
Chelios played the majority of his career with the Red Wings (10 seasons) and Blackhawks (9 seasons) but also played games with the Canadiens and the Thrashers as well.
He played 26 years in the NHL and registered over 1650 games. He won three Norris Trophies and a Mark Messier award as well. He won three cups and is also a member of the Hall of Fame. Chelios will become the 9th Blackhawk to have his number retired.
