BREAKING: Brandon Tanev Injured After Dirty Hit In Season Opener
The Seattle Kraken may be without one of their best energy players after their season opener ended in disaster. Not only did the team lose 4-1 to the Vegas Golden Knights, but they also lost the heart and soul of the team late in the 3rd period.
Tanev Leaves Game Early With Injury
Brandon Tanev took an awkward hit from Vegas's Brett Howden in the neutral zone late in Tuesday night's game. The primary point of contact appeared to be Tanev's head and the on-ice officials agreed as Howden was given a match penalty for the play after a quick review.

Tanev was very slow to get up. Major penalty has been called.
Making matters worse, Tanev fell awkwardly, collapsing entirely on his left leg, which appeared to cause the player more distress than the head contact. Tanev remained on the ice for a long time but he was eventually able to skate off with a trainer as he favored his right leg. Tanev would not return to the game.
