What was a very tough year in Chicago after starting the season with so much hope after bringing in quite a few new players like vezina winning Marc-Andre Fleury and Norris calibre defenceman Seth Jones, ended in agony as the Blackhawks new General Manager Kyle Davidson put this team in a new direction and is officially starting a rebuild.
The team recently traded away 24 year old 2x 40 goal scorer, Alex Debrincat to the Ottawa Senators for far under-value and they also traded away 21 year old former 3rd overall pick Kirby Dach to the Montreal Canadiens for what will also most likely be undervalue if Dach reaches his potential.
This rebuild has not sat well with the two veteran leaders on the Blackhawks, being Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. They have watched this team go from 3 cups in 6 years to missing the playoffs in 2 straight seasons.
With the Blackhawks trading away all their assets, these 2 stars will definitely not want to be part of a full rebuild and it sounds like Patrick Kane is officially done in Chicago.
Kane is still producing at an elite pace, he had 92 points in 78 games last year and at the age of 33, he definitely wants to take a few more runs at the cup, which wont be happening in Chicago any time soon.
Patrick Kane will put in a trade request on Wednesday when the free agency is underway per Chicago radio insider. His top team was reported to be New York Rangers, linking back up with his duo Artemi Panarin.
