Connor Bedard is the best prospect the sport of hockey has seen since Connor McDavid. He has set countless records at the junior level and has already started breaking records at the NHL level.
Today, he signed his entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.
His entry-level contract is a record-breaking one with it being maxed out with potential bonuses that could net Bedard up to $4.5 million based on his performance.
The previous record was held by Juraj Slafkovksy, the 2022 1st overall pick of the Montreal Canadiens, with a contract that could give him $4.45 million.
The bonuses Bedard could receive are entirely performance based but if his projection at the NHL level is anything, he could hit these marks by the 2nd and 3rd years of his contract.
The current landscape of the NHL shows that he would need to register at least 100 points to receive his B-level bonuses but he could certainly do so before the age of 20.
