BREAKING: Krug Confirms He Refused Massive Trade
Torey Krug recently addressed the media regarding speculations that he prevented a trade to the Flyers during the past summer. Emphasizing his commitment to St. Louis, Krug expressed his desire to continue playing in St. Louis, citing his love for the city and his eagerness to be part of the team. Reacting to the rumors, Krug acknowledged the challenges they present, especially considering his family commitments. He underlined his dedication to the game and the team, reminding everyone of his 7-year contract with St. Louis and his intention to honor it.
Committed to The Blue Note
«Obviously I chose to stay here (St. Louis). I want to be part of this room and love playing in this city and wearing the Blue Note so it's something I'm very excited about. You don't like hearing things like that. I have kids, I have a family. But I want to be here and wear the Note. I'm here to play hockey. I signed up to be in St. Louis for 7 years and that's what I want to do. When you hear stuff like that, there's more that goes into it than what's on the surfaceat the end of the day, I want to be here.»
Krug further touched upon the alleged trade talks, stating that despite the ups and downs in hockey, his commitment remains unwavering. Drawing from his vast experience, he believes in showing up and giving his best, a sentiment he feels is shared by his teammates.
«I've seen everything in hockey, just about everything you can think of. If you know anything about me, or my history, you know I'm going to show up and go to work everyday. I think my teammates understand that and expect that.»
Almost Shipped To Philly
Reports had previously indicated that Krug was on the verge of being traded to Philadelphia in a deal that would have seen D Travis Sanheim and F Kevin Hayes join St. Louis. Instead, the Flyers later traded Hayes to St. Louis, retaining 50% of his salary, in exchange for a 2024 6th round pick. Currently, Krug has four years left on his contract, which carries an average annual value of $6.5M.
