NHL Insider Makes Shocking Claim For Bedard's Upcoming Season
In a recent statement, this NHL Insider made a shocking claim regarding Bedard's upcoming season with the Blackhawks.
The hype surrounding Connor Bedard has gone hyperbolic since his incredible performance on the World Junior stage. Even more, his numbers in his last two WHL seasons were incredible, putting up an impressive record of 243 points.
With these numbers, Bedard easily took the number 1 spot in last year's draft. He may not be expected to solely turn around the Blackhawks organization at 18 years old, however, some are setting their expectations pretty high, saying he might win the Calder.
Some NHL Insiders Are Setting More Realistic Expectations
In a shocking turn, Andy Strickland made a surprising prediction for Bedard's upcoming season.
"Connor Bedard will not win the Calder Trophy." - Andy Strickland
With his highlight real goals, and even some impressive showings during the Blackhawks' development camps, some are predicting a 100-point season this year. However, Strickland is sticking to the conservative side, predicting the young star will put up less than 30 goals.
While Bedard is certainly going to be one of the NHL's top players, scoring 20-30 goals in your rookie season as a 19-year-old is still an incredible feat. We will see how Bedard's skills transfer to the NHL.
