When it comes to a logo of a hockey team, it's sacred. Canadians cannot see a Maple Leaf and not immediately think of the Toronto Maple Leafs, or see a toilet seat and not think of the Montreal Canadiens (just kidding).
Hearing that a team is changing their logo though is usually unheard of, unless they were going back to a retro logo for their retro nights.
The Seattle Kraken have been one of the most surprising teams this season. After causing everyone to shake their heads at the teams Expansion draft and leaving players like Vladimir Tarasenko on the table, they've rebounded quite nicely in their second season in the league, after finishing 30th last season.
Seattle is currently holding onto a Wild Card position en route to their first Stanley Cup playoff appearance in the history of the franchise.
The Kraken have officially announced that on April 6th, they will be officially changing their logo for the night in honour of ''Green Night''.
On April 6, we're celebrating the natural beauty of our home on Green Night, pres. by @boeing 🌲
Designed by local muralist @onesevennine, the #SeaKraken will wear speciality warm-up jerseys that highlight the power of nature and clean energy found in the PNW.
I dont know about you, but I really like this logo!
