A new announcement has been made that has revealed one of the five players charged in the World Juniors scandal is facing an additional charge. The player will now have to defend himself against multiple accusations.

One WJC Scandal Member Facing Double Charge

Today a report has confirmed that Michael McLeod is facing two charges in connection with the 2018 World Juniors scandal. While the other four players are facing the same charges McLeod has an extra charge for "being a party to the offence."

New: Court documents obtained by @TSN_Sports and @CTVNationalNews confirm Dillon Dube, Alex Formenton, Carter Hart, Michael McLeod and Cal Foote have all been charged with s***** a******.

"Dillon Dube on or about the 19th day of June in the year 2018 at the City of London in the Southwest Region did commit a s***** a****** on E.M., contrary to Section 271 of the Criminal Code of Canada."

The document repeats the same allegation against each of the other four players and says McLeod is also facing an additional charge of s***** a****** for "being a party to the offence."

All of the players have said they will plead not guilty and the allegations against them have not been tested in court.

The players were arrested on Jan. 26 and their next appearance date is Feb. 5, according to the documents.

This charge essentially means that McLeod was in attendance when a crime was being committed. It could also mean he was not directly involved in the acts themselves.

As of now we do not know why McLeod was charged with this or what it means for his trial going forward. The London Police are scheduled to give an update soon where we could learn more about these questions.
