The San Jose Sharks have traded Norris winning defenseman Erik Karlsson to the Penguins.
The Montreal Canadiens are the third team involved in the deal.
TRADE ALERT:
To PIT: Erik Karlsson, Rem Pitlick, Hamaliuk and San Jose's 2026 third-round draft pick.
TO SJ: Pittsburgh's 2024 first-round draft pick, Granlund, Rutta and Hoffman.
TO MTL: acquires Pittsburgh's 2025 second-round draft pick, Jeff Petry, Casey DeSmith, Legare. Karlsson is coming off of a 101 point season for the Sharks as a defenseman where he won the Norris Trophy. He will look to help the Pens win the Stanley Cup.
