Val Nichushkin was a crucial player in Colorado's 2022 Stanley Cup win. Unfortunately for both Nichushkin and the Avalanche, he was forced to leave the team during their playoff run this season, and things quickly fell apart for the Avalanche. Details trickled through about Nuchushkin's absence, but we now know more about the supposed incident.
Woman Found in Nichushkin's Hotel Room Was Supposedly Drugged
Details game out over the last two weeks following the Avalanche's star forward's departure from the team, which indicated that an intoxicated woman had been found in Nichushkin's hotel room. The woman was supposedly of Russian lineage, and very little has been heard about either Nichushkin or the woman sense. We do know that the woman was so intoxicated that she had to be taken to a hospital to receive treatment, but not much else.
It was revealed today by Seattle Times reporter Geoff Baker that the woman found in Nichushkin's hotel room was either suffering from a case of severe alcohol poisoning, or had a substance slipped into her drink. This is very concerning news for Avalanche fans, because it indicates that Nichushkin may be guilty of drugging the woman in question.
The Avalanche's team physician was the one to make the 911 call when the incident with Nichushkin and the woman was first uncovered, and the transcript from the call is extremely concerning.
«We suspect someone might have OD'd on alcohol potentially or something got mixed in a drink, we don't know yet,»
The Avalanche have revealed next to nothing about Nichushkin's status with the team, and as of now, fans have no idea where he is. When it was first reported a few weeks ago, it was said that the incident was "not a police matter", but these new details may contradict that statement.
