Insider Reveals Fight Between Rangers' Coach and General Manager
The New York Rangers' playoff run ended much faster than many had anticipated. Chris Drury made important trades to bolster his lineup with great talent. However, even the arrival of Vladimir Tarasenko and Patrick Kane wasn't enough to beat the New Jersey Devils.
We have recently learned a reason that may explain this disappointing turn of events in the Big Apple.
Insider Reveals Fight Between Rangers' Coach and General Manager
The Athletic reported that a fight erupted between Gerard Gallant and Chris Drury after the fourth game against the Devils.
Frank Seravalli then revealed that Gallant's days in New York could be numbered, and named a possible replacement.
"Frank Seravalli expects a coaching change for the New York Rangers after their first-round exit.
He lists Joel Quenneville as a potential replacement if he gets cleared by the NHL."
Quenneville hasn't worked in the NHL since the scandal in Chicago and will need permission if he wants to interview for a job.
This could have a significant impact on the team's reputation, and Drury will certainly face criticism if he hires Quenneville.
