The Buffalo Sabres season continues to go off the rails with an injury to superstar Tage Thompson.
Thompson Goes Down WIth Gruesome Injury
In the first period of a division rivalry game, Tage Thompson took an awkward fall and immediately was in severe discomfort.
Thompson had to be helped off the ice and down the tunnel. He has not currently returned to the game but his return was called questionable by the Sabres.
Injury update: Forward Tage Thompson is questionable to return (lower body).
The Sabres have struggled to live up to the massive expectations put on them this season. Without Thompson, those struggles might only get worse. They currently trail the Bruins 3-0 near the end of the first period.
