Yesterday, the Toronto Maple Leafs placed goaltender Ilya Samsonov on waivers with the purpose of assigning him to the AHL.

In conjunction with this move, the Leafs decided to call goaltender Dennis Hildeby up to the NHL.

Hildeby stands at a towering 6'7" which is tied for the tallest goaltender in NHL history.
Hildeby will be wearing the number 41 for the Leafs and will make his NHL debut soon enough.
There are many stories of young goaltenders coming up and leading a team to the Stanley Cup, like Cam Ward, Matt Murray, or Jordan Binnington, and hopefully Hildeby can add his name to the list of goaltenders able to do that.
