Two-time cup champ and 700-game NHL veteran Carl Hagelin is being forced to hang up the skates due to a horrific eye injury.
Hagelin Retires
It was just announced that Carl Hagelin has retired from hockey.
Citing eye injuries, Hagelin will reportedly never get back to 100% given the conditions of the injury.
He played 713 career games starting with the Rangers and ending with the Capitals. Along his journey, he won two Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins serving as a valuable third-line winger.
In his final NHL season, 2021-22, Hagelin played 53 games and scored 14 points. Throughout his career, he scored 110 goals and 296 total points.
We wish him all the best in his retirement and the following stages of his life.
