A 14-year NHL veteran and Stanley Cup Champion has decided to call it a career today.

Bernier Retires

Jonathan Bernier announced on his Instagram that he is retiring from professional hockey.

After fourteen years, it's time for me to hang up the pads. I can't thank the @lakings, @mapleleafs, @anaheimducks, avalanche, @redwings and @njdevils enough for giving me the opportunity to play in the best league in the world and in front of the best fans in the game. There are no words to express my gratitude to everyone who has been part of my hockey journey since day one, without all of you I couldn't have done it.

To my lovely wife, kids and family, thank you for always being by my side through the ups and downs. You have always supported me and helped me achieve my childhood dream and be my biggest fans.

Now I'm heading into the next chapter of life - retirement
