Babcock's Job Officially in Jeopardy After New Developments in Investigation
With new developments emerging in the Mike Babcock investigation, it seems to be that his job may now be in question.
Babcock Investigation Heats Up
After the Blue Jackets released their statement a few days ago, the question of whether or not the NHL would step in was in everyone's minds. News then broke of representatives from the NHLPA paying a visit to Columbus to further their investigation.
Now, reports of a meeting in New York between the NHLPA and the NHL are scheduled to occur this morning, where Babcock will be the center of discussion.
"Based on the information that has been discovered and percolated to the surface in the last 48 hours, I think there's a chance Babcock's job could be in question... I'm not reporting or predicting it's going to happen, but there's a chance that happens."
Young Prospects Uncomfortable
The investigation significantly picked up after it was reported that some of the younger Blue Jackets players were uncomfortable with what occurred. According to Elliotte Friedman, that was a major focus of the investigation.
"It appears things changed... when information was received that some of the younger Blue Jackets were uncomfortable with what had occurred. That appears to be the major focus of the investigation."
It is only a matter of time whether or not we see if Babcock makes it to his first season back in the NHL, or loses his job before he gets a chance to coach a single game.
