The morning began with great joy for Boston Bruins enthusiasts after they acquired Tyler Bertuzzi and secured an 8-year contract extension for David Pastrnak, leaving them overjoyed. However, less than 12 hours later, their elation transformed into apprehension.
During the second period of the match against the Buffalo Sabres, Ilya Lyubushkin collided with Marchand, causing him to awkwardly slam into the boards and experience visible discomfort. Marchand subsequently withdrew from the game, and the Bruins confirmed that he would not return.
With Nick Foligno and Taylor Hall already out, the loss of another left wing is a significant setback for the team.
