Dahlin Lays Marchand Out

Early on in last night's game against the Boston Bruins, the Buffalo Sabres found themselves in an early hole and were looking for a spark to get things going.

With a Rob Blake-esque hit Rasmus Dahlin sent Brad Marchand flying and his teammates took exception to the hit.

As a result of the play Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy got a roughing minor as well Sabres center Dylan Cozens getting a matching one.

Bruins Dominate The Sabres

The Bruins had a 2-0 lead at the time of the hit and wound up winning 5-2 having five different goalscorers. Marchand even got in on the scoring with having an assist on the final Bruins goal of the game.

On top of losing the game, the Sabres also lost their star player Tage Thomspon for a considerable amount of time. Head coach Don Granato confirmed the following:

Postgame, Buffalo head coach Don Granato said Tage Thompson will miss «significant time.» Brutal

The Sabres currently sit 2nd to last in the Atlantic division and will need a major turnaround if they would like to end their playoff drought this year.
