Breaking: Senators Poach Oilers' Executive
Earlier today, the Ottawa Senators' new owner, Michael Andlauer, who bought the team last week, made a major announcement.
Ottawa Senators Steal Member from Edmonton Oilers Organization
The Senators hired Steve Staios as their President of Hockey Operations.
Staios was working in Edmonton as a Special Advisor to Hockey Operations and left to join the Sens.
Andlauer made the following statement:
"I am so excited that Steve is joining me in Ottawa to lead our hockey operations. I have worked with Steve for many years and know first-hand that he will strengthen our team with his hockey acumen, attention to detail, commitment to excellence, and enthusiasm for the game and its players. In hockey, you can never accumulate too much talent. Having Steve and Pierre leading our hockey department gives us a formidable team."
Staios also played in the NHL for 16 years. He took part in 1,001 games with the Canucks, Bruins, Thrashers, Oilers, Flames, and Islanders.
Don't be surprised if more changes are announced soon as the new ownership takes the reins of the franchise!
