Calder Nominee Extended Long Term
One of the top rookies in the NHL last year has been extended long-term giving his team some security.
Maccelli Extended
Former NHL goaltender and insider Kevin Weekes has dropped some massive news regarding top rookie Matias Maccelli.
Maccelli is coming off of a year where he scored 49 points in 60 games which equates to a 67-point pace as a rookie. He is known for his playmaking ability and has scored some pretty goals as well.
He finished 4th in Calder voting last year and was a member of the NHL all-rookie team which included Matty Beniers, Owen Power, Jake Sanderson, and Wyatt Johnston. Of the skaters, 3/5 were drafted in the top 5, and 4/5 were first-round picks.
Maccelli was the only one who was not a first-round pick being a 4th rounder from 2019. He will look to build off of his strong rookie campaign next year with a larger role on a stronger Coyotes team.
