Chicago Blackhawks Keeping Secrets About Corey Perry Raising Questions About Their Promise for Transparency
The Chicago Blackhawks have vowed to be open about things happening in the organization, however, that doesn't appear to be the case with Corey Perry.
Chicago Blackhawks Have Vowed to Remain Transparent as an Organization After Past Incidents
The Chicago Blackhawks have had a turbulent past few years, covering up the Kyle Beach scandal, and have vowed to fans that they have learned from their mistakes. That vow included a promise to remain transparent with things going on in the organization.
The Blackhawks ended their statement last October with this line about earning trust and support.
The Blackhawks in Feb. 2022: «It's none of your business» what steps we've taken to earn that trust back.
A disgrace, a disaster and an absolute embarrassment for the NHL.
The whole essence of vowing to be transparent was that so fans could feel comfortable returning to the fanbase and building trust.
Well, that trust is only going so far and is being questioned again with how the Blackhawks are dealing with Corey Perry.
Blackhawks Remained Tight-Lipped Regarding Corey Perry's Status
Corey Perry's status with the Chicago Blackhawks is currently in question, as he missed Wednesday night's game as a healthy scratch, deemed an organizational decision. Perry was also missing from Thursday's practice as well, with no explanation from management.
Luke Richardson says the Blackhawks will not provide any more details about Corey Perry's situation yet.
"Transparency" was a big word around the Blackhawks organization with the new regime. I'm sure they have their reasons for being so tight-lipped about the Corey Perry situation, but all this does is fuel wild, baseless speculation. Very curious situation.
When asked directly to clarify if Perry's absence was discipline-related or if it was regarding a potential trade, Blackhawks Head Coach Luke Richardson did not budge.
I'm sure there is but unfortunately, I can't give you anything but that today.
The entire situation could be nothing worth noting, or that Perry is dealing with personal matters. However, by keeping everything secretive, the Blackhawks are forcing fans to speculate on what is happening.
Hopefully, everything with Perry and his family is alright, and this is just a small bump in the road.
