Conference Rival Reportedly Eyeing Connor Hellebuyck
Connor Hellebuyck would instantly make any team he went to a playoff contender and could upgrade some to cup contenders.
Hellebuyck's Consistent Play
Since signing his 6-year $37 million deal with the Jets five years ago, Connor Hellebuyck has established himself as one of the best goaltenders in the NHL. Not having a season under a .910 sv% or over 3 GAA, Hellebuyck is rightfully considered one of the best.
However, entering the final year of his deal, rumors have circulated that Hellebuyck does not want to resign in Winnipeg and will leave in free agency if not given a massive contract or traded.
Due to this, many teams have begun calling on Hellebuyck to see if they could pry him away from Winnipeg for a fair price.
LA Wants Hellebuyck?
A recent article for NHL Trade Talk links Hellebuyck to the Kings. Citing the Kings' desire to be competitive and their having a massive hole at goaltender, the Kings could be the prime candidates for Hellebuyck.
It's possible that Hellebuyck becomes nothing more than an NHL Trade Deadline rental and if that happens, expect the Kings to be keenly interested.
If the Kings can secure Hellebuyck, they would instantly upgrade from a playoff team to a championship contender that could realistically beat out the Oilers and the Golden Knights on their quest for a cup.
