The NHL Team That Sought Roy for Head Coach Position Revealed
Patrick Roy has been quite successful since resigning as the head coach and VP of the Colorado Avalanche. He has found a home in the QMJHL coaching the Quebec Remparts who have just won the QMJHL championship and are currently competing in the Memorial Cup.
NHL teams in search of a head coach have been looking at Roy with one officially reaching out to him.
Elliotte Friedman revealed in a recent podcast which team had reached out to Roy.
The Blue Jackets and Roy make a lot of sense. They have a mix of young talent and older stars similar to Colorado during Roy's tenure and we saw how he developed players like Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen.
The ball appears to be in Roy's court where he can decide if he wants to return with Columbus or potentially wait for a larger market to reach out for his services.
